Philippine Sunsets

I am sharing some sunsets in the Philippines. These photographs I have seen by myself.

Manila Bay Sunset. While waiting for the sun to finally set, you can walk along Roxas Boulevard or order some refreshment by the bay.

Reflected sunset, Mall of Asia, Pasay City. I caught this reflected sunset while I was in the SMX Convention Center facing the wide parking space. The building reflects a sunset from my back while people are busy shopping and attending to various activities in the renowned Mall of Asia.

Nostalgic sunset. Sta. Josefa town, Agusan del Sur. I visited Sta. Josefa municipality in Agusan del Sur. Fresh from the devastating effects of Typhoon Pablo that destroyed much of its agriculture and livelihood, I find this sunset nostalgic. I spent there for the whole afternoon and until early evening. I was inside the vicinity of the municipio when I took this photograph.

Late afternoon sunset, Quezon Memorial Circle, Quezon City. I stayed under the heat of the sun for three days at Quezon Memorial Circle together with our lady firefighters prior to the observance of Fire Prevention Month in March. We practiced the demo of capability of the new government firetrucks with a team composed of female uniformed personnel. There, I caught this picture.

The Lake Within

Lake Sebu. It is the name of a town in South Cotabato that has a lake within named Lake Sebu.

One of the seven falls.

I have been to Lake Sebu for twice already. I spent nights in one resort and visited a neighboring resort during the day. I visited the zipline and the Seven Falls. Its zipline is said to be the tallest in Asia. I traversed the lake that is said to be never been successfully fathomed.

Souvenir Shop at Punta Isla Lake Resort showcases products made by women and locals of the town.

I admire Lake Sebu's rich culture as women weave its products on display at the souvenir shop.

A log boat is one of the means of transportation for residents around Lake Sebu.

Lake Sebu is worth visiting. It is located in high altitude but you will be surprised of the lake on top of it. The lake provides a living to the community. 

Animals Love Us: We Love Animals

Animals love us; we love animals. This is the theme of the exhibit by AgriPro Premier Nutrition Inc. in the 5th INAHGEN 2014, The Farmers Congress. INAHGEN stands for International Animal Health, Genetics and Nutrition Congress. The exhibit was held at the famed SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. 

I find such exhibit artistic that I took photo of some of the frames. No need to expound further as the frames speak of themselves.

 

For Regulars and First Timers

Cebu Pacific flies to Legazpi City for at least 4 times a day.

Mayon Volcano, world's perfect cone, greets tourists and locals upon setting foot in Albay.

Legazpi City airport is one of the five operating airports in the Bicol region.

Of the many airports that I have been to, I find Legazpi City airport special. Some rush to alight the plane while some hurry to take a picture of the beautiful scene at the back, world's perfect cone Mayon Volcano. As a native of the place, I never get tired of getting a picture of it every time I get home. I have seen it for countless times in my life but I would always love to take a photograph of it in all angles I could. It is always relaxing to see Mayon Volcano in full view every moment the plane touches the ground of Legazpi City airport.

Senses in Glan

Reminiscing my short yet very memorable moments in Mindanao particularly in Region 12, let me share some very nice photographs of hidden paradise in Saranggani Province. These photographs are nicely shot by Chief Inspector Romeo Maltezo Jr. The two of us were very lucky to be part of the group that visited the place.

I was told that for about an hour sea travel from this spot in the Philippines,
one will already reach Kota Kinabalo, Malaysia.

Mindanao, like any other place in the Philippines, is a haven of hidden spots which I call paradise. This one is in Saranggani Province, the province where the world's famous boxer, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao is a congressman.

I fear waters that's why I did not try water sports. I did not plunge in the crystal clear waters, which my companions told me that I missed more than half of my life.

They told me these jet-ski belong to the Mayor of Glan and of course, Manny Pacquiao. Thanks to the two of you for lending us these wonderful adventure.

This is one of the places where they train for water search and rescue.

The municipality of Glan in Saranggani, where we sojourned and where these pictures are taken, have very clean sea waters. Sand is white and not a plenty of people occupy the beach as that in Boracay. I enjoy nature, of course, if there is less disturbance.

I may not be from Mindanao but my heart belongs to it. It is my wish that hidden treasures in this part of southern Philippines, town of Glan, be preserved and protected for the next generations.
